MR.Robert T. Parker, CEO & Founder of Digi-Net Technologies, Inc

Welcome to Arab Web Talk forums.the biggest arab companies meeting
formus . most of the members are now looking for this meeting as one
of the important meetings this year , and if this is a sign it will a
sign of the big position of the Digi-Net Technologies, Inc in the arab
markets .

Digi-Net Technologies, Inc is the biggest provider of the chat programs
in the arab world and to me if I have to visit an arab site and
couldn’t see the entrance of the digi-chat I would think that’s
something wrong with the site

And a big provider to the arab companies of the management programs
like the groopz program for the companies customer management. And the
rooms program too.

A lot of the products are out to the markets from the digi-net
considers as a high Technologies we can have a closer look at www.digi-
net.com

This position in the arab markets is a result of the position in the
local markets

As I know

Digi-Net Technologies Inc. (http://www.digi-net.com), recognized in the
last Florida 100 survey as the 8th fastest growing private company and
the fastest growing technology company in Florida, is a premier
provider of Internet communication solutions to eBusinesses of all
sizes. To date, thousands of organizations benefit from the eCRM,
community building and instant messaging solutions provided by Digi-
Net. From the award winning DigiChat real-time chat software to the
patent-pending Groopz E-Commerce proactive web sales and customer
service application, Digi-Net prides itself on breaking down the
barriers of traditional Internet communication to enable the web to
mimic real-world settings. Digi-Net has an extensive client base
including NHL, Paramount, Delta, Sun Microsystems, Jenny Craig, San
Antonio Spurs and Maxis Software.

So we would like to start with the porn of the digi-net to know how it
turned out in that big position as an internet solutions company.

How did the digi-net start?

We began Digi-Net in early 1999, though we started developing our first
commercial software product, DigiChat™, prior to that (we started the
development of DigiChat v1.0 about a year or so before that). Before
the development of DigiChat, we did custom software development and web
integration for both large Fortune 500 corporations and local (Florida)
organizations. It was always our intent to move to a commercial
software business model and move away from the more consulting-like
model.

In the past several years, we have stayed focused on the Internet
communications space, with a particular interest in the real-time
communications space. Our products like DigiChat and Groopz are
continuing to be developed to extend our lead in their respective
markets. We have been fortunate enough to have great customers and
partners that have grown with us forming a lasting relationship. As we
continue to grow, our intent is to more aggressively develop
applications that enable communication and collaboration in the daily
lives of businesses and consumers everywhere. We want to be a great
company!

MR.parker congratulations for the latest programs version in the digi-
net

digi-net is like they are working with secrets of the programs as we
can read from the way they provide the services. those secrets are not
to be told to the customers even to run their programs like the way
that the connection made between the Java and the servers and the
connection between the servers and the program it self that leads us
to think about hosting the digichat it will be difficult for the
customer ( the reseller ) to host program in their servers in a
Professional way as a hosting company?

All of our connections (ports, methods, etc.) are documented by our
technical departments. We have deployed thousands of installations of
DigiChat worldwide, many of which were hosted at a hosting company.
This usually comes in two forms, either a dedicated server or in a
shared hosting environment. For heavily trafficked chat sites, we
recommend a dedicated server, however, our software will operate fine
on a shared server environment provided a Java Virtual Machine is
available on the server.

Our latest and upcoming AV versions have the option of utilizing a
Flash-based AV technology for private audio and video chat, multi-chat
and webcasting (one-to-many). In these cases, you will simply need a
copy of the Flash Communications Server™ by Macromedia or utilize our
hosting services. Our new Flash AV option will provide the best
possible audio and video quality possible in the industry!

If you have specific issues, please feel free to contact me directly
and I will ensure that they are resolved immediately.

--------

as an arab customer we have notice that the digi-net is not giving a
full attention to the arab customers in the support side dose the Digi-
Net Technologies, Inc Headquarter thinking of improving the arab
support on that side ?

We are always constantly striving to provide the best possible service.
With the proliferation of hacked versions of our technology, it has
become increasingly difficult to support all Arab DigiChat users.
However, any legitimate licensees of any of our technology will receive
the full support of our team. We are actively looking to partner with
Web design and hosting companies in the region. I think that this will
help us overcome any language/cultural and time zone issues that may be
hampering our best customer service issues. Please contact me directly
for more information on working with us.

best regards

Welcome to our forums MR parker

Why is the digi-net Inc hosted programs are very costly while we can
have a dedicated server from the arab hosting companies in the same
price and we have the arab hosted digi-chat for about 70 SR Saudi
Riyal for 4 months !!!! about ( 20 USD ) while the company hosted 200
user room price for about 100 USD ?

Are you thinking of reducing the prices for the hosted programs ?

And if not

Are you taking in mind the reaction of the other companies if a company
came up with a programs can replace the digi-net programs like what
happened with the UBB program when the VB came up and all the websites
replace it with before 5 years ? specially when Microsoft has opened
the .NET for net application building now some applications will come
up in the next years.

Humax, thank you for your comments... For many years, DigiChat has
gained a reputation as the best chat software on the market, even
though it's not the cheapest. It's very much like the analogy of a
Mercedes Benz vs a Honda car. We spend an inordinate amount of money to
maintain both our technological and industry lead. It's a very
expensive process and some of that is the reason why we can't be the
lowest cost chat software provider; That being said, we always look at
ways in which we can both increase our market-share and lower prices as
long as we can maintain profitability.

There are many places you can buy things more inexpensively. But by
doing so, one can actually hurt the very people that invented and
maintain the programs that you rely on. Many of these lower cost
providers are actively using illegal copies of DigiChat- that's both
illegal and morally wrong. Other lower cost software providers that try
and copy DigiChat do not come with the years of testing, features,
support and polish that DigiChat has. If your users expect the best
quality and user experience, we encourage you to use DigiChat. I think
that there may be a cultural difference in pricing, while here in the
USA, there is not as much price pressure, I understand that in other
areas of the world, the pricing may not be inline with expectations. We
will continue to explore ways of reducing prices, but our pricing is
tied directly to how much it costs to create, run, and maintain the
DigiChat platform here in the USA.

A lot of companies was discussing the Digi-Chat AV IM Instant
Messaging and why its not that famous in our region while there is
some companies have the licenses to resell the program. is it the
weakness of the program or something else .

As one of the licensed companies : I would say its the best I ever use.

And I know the big issue on that was the communication quality that we
have in our region .

Any thinking of an application will live with our problem ?

Abdull, we now have two versions of our AV and AV/IM software. The
newest technologies coming out of Digi-Net include our new DigiChat
Flash AV version. One of the most important aspects of the new Flash
version is that it DOES NOT need the latest Sun Java to enable the AV
portions of the software. It provides significantly higher voice and
video quality (rivaling TV almost) at lower, customizable bandwidth
settings. These bandwidth settings can adjust the quality (lower) of
the audio and video such that they're usable in non-broadband
situations (dialup for instance). This is relatively new technology and
is just now hitting the market. We are actively looking for partners to
help promote this new Flash technology in the region. We believe that
it will be a very big hit.

Abdull
---------

How many arab company have the legal license of the digi-net
applications resell ?

I don't have that number offhand, but we know that there is an active
market for illegal copies of the DigiChat software. The latest versions
of DigiChat have extensive anti-piracy protections. We encourage
everyone to support the continued development of the DigiChat platform
by purchasing and utilizing only legitimate copies of DigiChat. We have
noticed a marked decline in sales to the region over the past several
years due to this which leads to decreased support for the product.

---------

Cracked version

MR.parker the cracked version are destroying the markets
Would you please explain how is the cracked version effecting the
markets and the companies in charge.

Utilizing cracked versions of the software destroys everyone involved.
It forces companies like Digi-Net to spend more time protecting the
software, it makes us less profitable and hurts development of the
products new features because as sales go down, so does the resources
usually dedicated to improving and developing the products. While many
people feel like no one is hurt when you use a cracked version of
software, but for companies that aren't the size of Microsoft, this is
a very important issue that affects the lives of all of our dedicated
employees. While this is more prevalent in developing markets, it is in
everyone's best interest to ensure product development and viability by
paying their fair share so that everyone wins.

---------

new digi-net applications

whats the new in the digi-net application those dayes?

We are actively working on new and innovative technologies that focus
on real-time communications on the Web and through the Internet. We are
working harder and faster than ever. Please visit join our newsletter
or visit Digi-Net.com to see what we're up to.

--------

what do you think will be the best way to deal with a market like the
arabs one, new to the e-business and internet technologies ?

We need the active support of our customers in the region. We also need
a very active and strong partner network. In a developing region such
as the Middle East/Arabia, it's in the best interest of the technology
community to form strong and lasting relationships with technology
vendors such as Digi-Net, as it moves and improves better technology
products that enable the economy as a whole to improve and operate more
efficiently. It's our goal to work with our new and old friends in the
region to tailor our Digi-Net solutions to our best customers in
Arabia.
